摘要Recent advances in language aptitude research have led to a better understanding of the factors that predict individual differences in language learning. This epilogue attempts to outline how findings about language aptitude can be used towards “Personalized Learning,” a program of research that aims to use predictors to help design optimal teaching paradigms. Evidence from behavioral as well as neural and genetic studies will be reviewed. Findings provide initial support for the applicability of Personalized Learning as a framework for conducting empirical studies and for addressing learning effectiveness in the individual learners. However, extensive testing in the laboratory and the classroom remains to be completed; challenges to implementing Personalized Learning in practice will be discussed.
