AbstractMany studies have been conducted on the process of urbanization in China. Previous studies have paid more attention to the poor social-economic status of rural migrants in China but little to the impact of urbanization on local residents and rural migrants. Using the data from fieldwork in Fujian, this paper will fill this research gap by examining consequences of urbanization to rural migrants and local urban residents.
