摘要Due to the lack of proper regulations, scandals are prevalent in Chinese nonprofit sector. When a scandal occurs, a social construction process of nonprofit organizational legitimacy follows up. In the past, in an authoritarian regime like China, the general public was not able to participate in this construction process, because mainstream media is controlled by the government. With the development of social media, the discourse relationship between government and the public has changed. In this study, we gathered data about a charity scandal, and explored how various parties, both the powerful ones and the powerless ones responded to the scandal.
