AbstractThe Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine share one common practice of prescription, viz. using multiple herbs in combination. Chinese medicine owns the classical guideline for the formulation of herbs, the Ayurveda system uses multiple herbs to counteract different aspects of observable symptoms, guided by rather rigid concepts.

This chapter would select a number of commonly used medicinal herbs in Ayurveda, and then look up their equivalents in the Chinese Pharmacopeia to illustrate the similarities and differences.
