摘要Various misconducts in the workplace have attracted attention from both researchers and practitioners. But we remain unclear what actions and exactly why the perpetrator of a misconduct would perform to recover the broken relationship. In this study, we take the wrongdoer’s perspective and examine (1) what emotional and cognitive experiences s/he would endure; and thus (2) what reactions, apology or denial, the offender would perform correspondingly; and (3) how would these efforts made further affect the effectiveness of the amendment, including the perpetrator’s self-forgiveness and the victim’s forgiveness. An experiment and a field study with experience sampling design are desired to test the propositions above. Implications and limitations are discussed as enclosed.
