AbstractA volume integral equation approach for modeling lossy dielectric resonator in the Courtney holder type of measurement environment is presented. Volumetric cylindrical pulse basis function with point-matching method is used to formulate the eigen problem. In the measurement process where permittivity value is the searching parameter, perturbation of the matrix equation involves solely re-computing a diagonal matrix. A novel singularity treatment based on a novel Bessel function identity is proposed to tackle the inherited singularity problem. Rod and ring DRs are analyzed and the computed results are validated via that obtained from commercial software and measurement data available from literature.
