AbstractIn this paper a regenerative braking energy recovery control strategy for electric vehicle (EV) based on fuzzy logic control is proposed. By analyzing the characteristic and the influence factors of the regenerative braking, the sugeno fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is established. Under assurance of braking safety and stability, the strategy distributes regenerative braking force and frictional braking force reasonably during braking, to make use of regenerative braking characteristic of motor as much as possible, so that much more kinetic energy can be converted into electric energy and stored in the battery. Model based on fuzzy logic control was established under the Matlab/Simulink environment and embedded into simulation software ADVISOR. Simulation experiments with different driving cycles were carried out, and the feasibility and effectiveness of fuzzy logic control strategy is tested with the state of charge (SOC) and braking energy recovery. © 2012 IEEE.
