AbstractRadiology and Medical Imaging is a unique clinical discipline characterized by continuing and rapid changing of its
landscape. Mainly driving by engineering progress, new techniques and data acquisition method are introduced almost every year. It is also heavily multidisciplinary, while crossdisciplinary research can be both rewarding and highly risky. Due to the rapidly changing nature of medical imaging, new research results can be soon become obsolete. For the young academic radiologists in China who aspire to have their research efforts making a long-lasting impact on patient care, hereby I express some of my personal experiences and viewpoints.
