AbstractMassive subchorionic thrombohematoma (MST) is an uncommon condition but is associated with poor perinatal prognosis and intra-uterine growth retardation (1, 2). We report a case of MST associated with a large subchorionic cyst, which was complicated with intra-uterine growth retardation and transverse lie. We have not found a similar report which had serial ultrasound scan demonstrating the evolution from a mild heterogenic echodense placental mass to a large subchorionic cyst.
