AbstractPrevalence studies of the recently identified TT virus (TTV) have suggested that parenteral transmission is a common route of infection, but other routes also appear likely. In this study, a high rate of cervical carriage (66%) of TTV DNA was found by polymerase chain reaction, which suggests that perinatal and sexual transmission is possible.
