摘要Two satellite cell specific myogenic factors (mitogens) have been partially identified and purified from skeletal red muscle of adult rats. These two partially purified mitogens could synergically and significantly trigger the proliferation and differentiation of autogenous satellite cells whose progeny subsequently fuse to pre-existing partially damaged muscle fibers to form full repair of the damaged muscle fibers or to form new myotubes to replace the completely damaged muscle fibers during the cascade of muscle healing and regeneration in vivo.
