AbstractAmplitude regeneration of 80-Gb/s polarization-multiplexed RZ-DPSK signals has been demonstrated in an orthogonally pumped fiber optical parametric amplifier. The receiver sensitivities of the two polarization branches are improved by 3.5 and 3.3 dB.
