AbstractBACKGROUND: Plasma DNA is predominantly hematopoietic in origin. The size difference between maternaland fetal-derived DNA in maternal plasma prompted us to investigate whether there was any discrepancy in molecular size between hematopoietically and nonhematopoietically derived DNA in plasma.
