A 170cm Transmission Distance, High Speed IntraBody Communication Receiver Design and Its Application to FPGA Audio Player

摘要this paper presents a design of analog Receiver Front End based on IntraBody Communication theory, which mainly concentrates on the high data speed-2.5Mb/s and 5Mb/s, extremely long transmission distance-170cm, these specifications are seldom achieved in previous research but will play significant role and be necessary in the further IBC applications. The ISI issue during long transmission on body is also first discussed and restrain in this design. Furthermore, Return-to-Zero coding is adopted to increase the run length and doesn't affect the transmission speed. To verify the feasibility of the Receiver Front End, a discrete circuit (PCB) is fabricated and measured. Then the proposed circuit is also applied to an FPGA based audio player. By a simple touch on the transmitter electrode, the data will be sent through one hand to the other hand attached by a receiver electrode. As the transmitter and receiver work upon asynchronous clocks, an asynchronous serial frame with start bits and end bits is used.
