摘要Low bone mass is an important feature of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), which is a complex three-dimensional spinal deformity affecting girls during puberty. Quantitative computed tomography (QCT) can provide differential assessment of cortical and trabecular volumetric bone mineral densities (vBMDs) at the spine. However, routine spinal assessment by QCT is not appropriate because of high radiation exposure. Therefore, this study investigated whether BMD and bone quality at non-spinal sites correlate with those at the axial skeleton in AIS.
