Research Interest
My current research directions can be divided into two areas. First, to investigate the basic biology and clinical application potential of human adult or fetal mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) in bone and cartilage repair. I also explore novel treatment strategies such as MSC secretome, miRNA and biomaterials with MSC tracking and controlled release properties. Second, to study the roles of osteocytes in rare bone disorders. Now, the focus is on the link between osteocytes and Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) which is associated with low systemic bone mineral density. I am also developing transgenic animal for the investigation between bone and muscle interaction in AIS.
